Nina & Lennart

27 — 30 January 2027 Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia
Our Story

A long way around to here.

We met as students in Barcelona in 2018 and never quite got around to leaving — falling in love with each other and the city more or less at the same time.

In 2024, we packed two backpacks and spent a year wandering across continents, collecting questionable haircuts and excellent memories. Somewhere in the middle of that trip, in August 2025, Lennart proposed in Costa Rica.

Now we're bringing the people we love most to Malaysia — Nina's home — for four days of food, music, friends, and a proper celebration in the sun.

The Schedule

What to Wear

Dress for the climate, dress for the dancefloor.

Day 1 · Morning

Akad Nikah

Modest, colorful, traditional

Local guests will likely wear traditional clothing, but it's not expected of overseas guests. If you'd like to dress up traditional, we'd love to take you shopping.

Women: long sleeves, long skirts or trousers. Look up baju kurung or baju kebaya for inspiration.

Men: button-down shirts, long pants, light fabrics. Batik shirts are very welcome.

Day 1 · Evening

Welcome Drinks

Relaxed cocktail

Chinatown night-out meets warm tropical evening — stylish but easy.

Light, breathable fabrics are ideal: linen, cotton, silk. A polished but unfussy look. No need for anything overly formal.

Day 2

Bersanding

Tropical garden party 🌴

More festive than the Akad Nikah. Color, color, color.

Women: dresses, skirts or tailored sets. Shorter sleeves are fine; avoid anything extremely revealing.

Men: collared shirts, linen sets, batik, smart resort-style attire.

Day 4 · The Big One

Jungle Disco

Funky cocktail with a touch of disco ✨

Bright, celebratory colors strongly encouraged. Please avoid black and white if you can — this is the moment to have fun.

Light fabrics: linen, cotton, silk, viscose. Skip the heavy layers.

Ladies: leave the stilettos at home. Flats, sandals or comfy wedges will serve you much better in the garden.

Getting There

Travel & where to stay.

Flying in

Fly into Kuala Lumpur International Airport (KLIA). Most major European carriers connect through Doha, Dubai, Singapore, or Bangkok.

Getting around

The easiest way to get around KL is Grab — Southeast Asia's Uber. Rides are cheap, drivers are everywhere, and you'll save yourself a lot of stress.

Download the app before you arrive — you'll want it from the moment you land.

Getting to Janda Baik

The reception venue is roughly 1.5 hours from central KL, in the highlands. Transport details TBD

Where to stay

A handful of hotels we'd recommend, from relaxed to splashy:

Moxy KL Lively · Mid-range
Four Points by Sheraton Reliable · Mid-range
Hotel Stripes Boutique · Mid-range
The Chow Kit Design-led · Mid-range
Else Hotel Splash out · Luxury
The Practical Stuff

Things you might be wondering.

If you have a German passport — no, you don't need one. For other passports, please check your government's travel guidance for Malaysia. Most European and many other nationalities can enter visa-free for short stays, but it's always worth verifying close to the date.
Warm and humid, year-round. Expect highs around 30°C (86°F) and lows around 23°C (73°F). January is one of the drier months in KL, but tropical showers can still appear briefly — they pass quickly. Pack light fabrics, sandals, and maybe a small umbrella.
Yes — children are very welcome at all events.
Honestly: your presence is the gift. If you'd like to give us something anyway, that's lovely. One small ask — if it's heavy or fragile, please leave it in Europe and give it to us back home rather than lugging it across the world.
We'll set up a WhatsApp group closer to the date with logistics, last-minute updates, and probably too many memes. If you don't hear from us by December 2026, drop us a line.
